Welcome to Quebec City

UNESCO heritage gem and one of the only fortified city in North America

The Society for Police & Criminal Psychology (SPCP) is a multidisciplinary group that encourages the scientific study of the criminal justice system and the application of behavioral science knowledge to problems in criminal justice, including law enforcement, judicial, and corrections elements. SPCP President Dr. Nadine Deslauriers-Varin announces that the 2022 annual SPCP conference will be held from Wednesday, September 21 through Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Hôtel Le Concorde Québec, the skyscraper landmark hotel of the mythical Grande Allee Avenue in Old Quebec. A UNESCO World Heritage treasure, Old Quebec is the only fortified city north of Mexico and offers everything from historical and cultural activities to outdoor adventures and vibrant nightlife. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main touristic attractions, shopping, award-winning restaurants, bars, and terraces. Please note that this will be an in-person only event.

SPCP annual conference solicits participation from clinicians, academics, police officers, legal professionals, students, and other professionals involved in the scientific study of the criminal justice system. The presentations held through the conference can be recognized as continuing education credits for the professional attendees, which implies that the presentations selected are at the cutting-edge of knowledge, that they have well-defined training objectives and clear benefits for practice settings. Our conference is a wonderful opportunity to share ideas, best practices, and cutting-edge research in the fields of police and criminal psychology.

Whether as a presenter or participant, your presence will make the event not only a place for knowledge transfer, but also a unique networking opportunity. Bringing together students, professionals and researchers, this conference will be an excellent opportunity to create national and international collaborative relationships and to develop new partnerships between different organizations and disciplines while keeping you up to date about the most recent scientific advances in police psychology and criminal justice issues.

The call for proposals is now open on the SPCP website! This year we especially welcome presentations and posters that address the conference theme: Policing in a changing society. The deadline for submission of proposals for presentations or posters is
May 1st, 2022.
